English Championship, New Owners & a Red Shirt

The English Championship takes on more dreams from foreign owners, sadly still only three go up, who will, who might and of course a lot won’t; will keep us guessing for the next 9 months.

Outside of the usual suspects, Leeds, Birmingham, Wolves and Boro, here are a few of my tips to watch.

New Cardiff City Football Club owner Chan Tein Ghee (TG) a Malaysian businessman has turned Cardiff Red after 104 years as Bluebirds, Cardiff may be torn on the Home and Away shirts colours, but if red is lucky enough to get the Cardiff faithful up to the promised land of the Premiership… then Red home shirts it must be.

The Qatari’s Al Hasawi family have taken over at Notts Forest, a new coach, with new beliefs Sean O’ Driscoll, may not be Iconic, but I back him to turn this sleeping giant around.

Gianfranco Zola’s arrival at Watford was down to the cash from new owners La Famiglia Pozzo, who add Watford to their adopted clan including Udinese & Granada.

Eddie Izzard becomes an Eagle, souring high over Crystal Palace helping southeast London pride rise out of hedge fund trauma.
