London Olympics 2012- Day 15

There are times when new words are added to the Oxford English Dictionary on Day 15 in London, during the last night of Track and Field at the Olympic Stadium, a Double-Triple and Mo-Bot could be those words.

Thousands of years ago, the Ancient Greeks wrote about races like these, talent from the Middle Distance meeting their Longer Distance Masters on a hard fast track in London, GB’s Mo Farah was one of those running for another Olympic Gold Medal, by stepping back to the shorter distance to set a records that would be etched in time. When Mo needed to run faster, OMG, and did he run….  Mo Farah an adopted Somali Immigrant coasted 4500m then clocked a sub 53 Second lap, pulling the field apart to sprint Faster, Harder, Stronger than his competitors. When the Mo-Bot was interviewed later, he simply insisted it was all down to handwork. And a bit of Talent Mo! A Somali Immigrant, An adopted Brit, showing the World if you work hard, you will Win.

Then Four Great Jamaicans, Bolt, Blake, Frater & Caster from One Island launched a New World Record of 36.85 in the last Track n Field Event of London 2012, The exuberance of Bolt is so infectious, so lovable, we believe in him, Please stay, See you in Rio2016, even if it’s to rub someone’s nose in it.

The Modern Pentathlon, where Victorian Military meets Athletes that swim, run, shoot, get a horse and jump some fences then have a little sword fight, not in that order, but classic all the same.

Never have we seen a happier Bronze Medalist than Britain’s Tom Daly, Proud Britain’s everywhere.

Kayak’s aren’t British, but Ed McKeever is and so is the GOLD Medal for his 200m win, USA Women win the Basketball, and lose the Volleyball, 10,000 watched Mountain Biking on a farm, while London was at a standstill again, this time for a 50 Km walk. Cool Hand Luke out boxes John Joe from Ireland, Amazingly Oribe Peralta scores a brace for Mexico to send Brazil’s packing at Wembley.

Quote of the Olympics

NBC Olympics studio host Willie Geist asked 17-year-old American middleweight Claressa Shields why did she take up boxing, her reply was, “I just love fighting. And I love beating people up.” lol

Headlines all over the world in the odd newspaper include

Mr. Double-Triple, Fly Mo Fly, Oh My God, Greatest Mo on Earth, Mo-Mentous and The Greatest Mo-Ment and Arise Sir Mo-Bot.

Tomorrow Day 16, a Sing-Song and an Olympic Closing Ceremony
