London Olympics 2012 – Day 12

Katie Taylor may be treated like Royalty in Ireland, but she showed again what a talent she is, after another convincing victory, Gold Medal round next against Ochigava from Russia. I always thought she was Odds On, but never realize every Paddy was ahead of me, 10,000 in the Excel, where has this beautiful little secret been hiding. Ola, Ola, Ola, Ola, Katie, Katie….

GB has it’s own Jewel in Nicola Adams, another victory leaves her with her Gold Round Battle against Ren Cancan, Nicola has the tools to bring home a Gold also – Go Girls!

Day 12 in Track n Field seems a bit boring after all the action over the past week. We have middle distance finalists at last and Bolt & Blake set up a final over 200m with cheers from 80,000 Olympic fans. Aries Merritt hurdled his way to a GOLD, GB’s young Lawrence Clarke gets an honourable 4th, while the beautiful Allyson Felix wins 200m GOLD in one of the Greatest every collections of sprinters of all time, shows that speed not looks can kill…

Men’s 200m Final – 8.55pm, Thursday Night 9th August 2012  Usain Bolt v Yohan Blake Part 2, 2 Billion Audience, plus six on the track.

Mo Farah & Rupp qualifies for the 5000m Final on Saturday Night with comfortable Heats. Caster Semenya qualified through her heats in the Women’s 800m. GB’s Lynsey Sharp qualified second for the next round. Sophie Hitchen sets a British Record in the Hammer competition and makes the Final. Men’s Pole Vaulter, Steve Lewis British record holder will also be back on Friday.

The Men’s Decathlon started this morning, and Gold Medal favourite Ashton Eaton started with an Olympic Best 100m 10.34, Sadly GB’s Daniel Awde limped out after the Long Jump. No surprise Ashton was over 100 points ahead of the pack after five events.

Bob Ellis, the Olympic Course builder at Greenwich Park set 12 custom build Iconic British fences for the Individual Show Jumping, for Nick Skelton & Big Star, finally Bob built a fence took big, Nick see you in Rio.

As we close the Velodrome, we open up the BMX Track… we have some of the Best BMXers on the Planet…. Shanaze Reade got ready for the races, it is going to be rough, there is going to be spills, But Shanaze will hope to erase the painful memories of Beijing. Go Girl get GOLD

Olympic Team Sports update

Men’s Handball Semis are now decided after moving from the Copper Box – Hungary will play Sweden and France takes on the unbeaten Croatia. Men’s Water Polo was always about Yugoslavia inviting all comers; London 2012’s Semi’s are Croatia v Montenegro and Italy v Serbia, no shocks there. Men’s Basketball Semi’s are Argentina against the US Dream Team & Spain take on the Russia. In the Men’ s Volleyball, Brazil beat Argentina 3-0, Italy beat USA 3-0, Bulgaria beat Germany 3-0, and finally Russia beat Poland, Yes 3-0 also…. All the Semi’s are on Friday.

Misty May and Ms Walsh make it 3 Gold’s on the trot in the Women’s Beach Volleyball Final after an all America affair, beating Kessy & Ross.

Our Hockey Girls lost to Argentina, The Netherlands beat NZ on Penalties, and we play for Bronze again on Friday.

Tomorrow more Gold
