London Olympics 2012 – Day 5

Oh, let me think, what shall I do this summer? thought Bradley Wiggins while sipping  a beer over New Year, just win the Tour de France & Olympic Gold, would be nice… whether it really happened or was just a wild dream,  as Wiggo said, “It don’t get much better than that, as a sporting achievement”.

Bradley Wiggins had just won the Men’s Time Trial, and Olympic Gold in London. Just as he has done all year, blew them all away, in his own backyard after winning the Tour de France, 3 weeks ago. Chris Froome said “He was chuffed to bits about sneaking onto the Podium”. There was nothing sneaky about Froome’s performance today, Chris, you cycled superbly and thoroughly deserve your Bronze Medal.

Wiggo now needs our help folks, re-developing his old cycle club, The Herne Hill Velodrome you can call them direct on Contact Number: 020 7737 4647.

Sadly, in the Women’s Time Trial GB peddlers Lizzy & Emma, missed out on the Medals.

GB Rowers Helen Glover & Heather Stanning win the 1st Gold for TeamGB at London 2012 in the Women’s Pairs. Thank You for the tears, and thanks for the sing-song, “God save the Queen”. A Herculean effort in just wanting to win GOLD by the Men’s Coxed Eights it just wasn’t to be. Piped on the line by a vastly experienced Canadian Eight, your Bronze Medal makes your nation Proud. GB can’t wait for that GOLD Medal to Brazil 2016.

In the latest Olympic Scandal, tagged “The Badminton Racket” resulted in some very heated meeting in a London Hotel, simple outcome, “If you Cheat, You will be thrown out of our Olympics”

The Boys were back in the Gym, Kristian Thomas & Dan Purvis preformed fantastically, but sadly finished 7th & 13th respectively. Kohei Uchimura took the GOLD in Men’s All-Round Gymnastics Finals.

It took a World Record by Daniel Gyurta to beat our boy Michael Jamieston into to Silver in the Men’s 200m Breaststroke with Andrew Willis finishing 8th. Fran Halsall qualified for the final of the Women’s 100m Freestyle, Ran JoJo set an Olympic Record to win that heat. Do not miss the Final on Day 6.

Now you win 2 European Championships and a Football World Cup and then come to the Olympics with possibly the most gifted squad in the World, then don’t qualify or score a Goal…. That to me is a failure of Olympic Proportions. Woeful

GB Mixed Doubles Pair Murray & Robson’s match against the Czech’s has been moved to Thursday (Day 6), incase you missed it.

Sir Chris Hoy & Victoria Pendleton are in the Velodrome tomorrow, Rowers on Eton Dorney Lake. What do they have in common? They’re hunting for GOLD, “Great British GOLD”

Later
